Deep Breaths
I’ve voted. I’ve cast spells. I’ve donated more money than I should have. I’ve prayed, in my own way. I know the difference between what I can control and what I can’t. Today I will take care of myself, and I urge you all to do the same.
I made a plan, part of which is to walk a local labyrinth. It’s extremely meditative and nourishing. To get a little taste of the experience, you can trace the labyrinth graphic at the top of this post with your finger. Breathe deeply and try to find the silence within you.
Here’s my Election Day plan:
Unplug (my ooo message is already locked and loaded!) to maintain mental health and avoid obsessive scrolling
Yoga & meditation in my living room
Walk the labyrinth at a local church
A stroll into town, or if I can find a pal to go with, a walk in the woods
Journal work on my current manuscript because my eyes have been suffering from too much computer use
Put up a pot of chicken soup to share with my doggie, who’s a very good girl
Bake a couple of gf baguettes
Go to the movies, perhaps even more than one
Keep breathing
Medicate, as necessary
Hoping for a win for democracy, preserving the rights of LGBTQIA+ people, the rights of people with uteruses to make decisions about our own bodies, the right of all people to affordable healthcare and our tax system to be equitable and fair, a win for the candidate concerned about the BIPOC community and immigrants and for all people to have the opportunity to receive a living wage for the work we do.
Wishing you all peace. xo

Amen.
That looks like a good plan. Good for you for thinking through the best way to manage the day. Love seeing that a labyrinth is involved.
