What's next?
Not sure, but thought you'd want to know...
After a decade at Emerald City Literary Agency, it is with mixed emotions that I’m stepping away from my career as a literary agent. In my 15 years in the publishing industry I’m proud to say that I built an award-winning client list whose books have won the Stonewall, Lambda Literary, PEN Center USA, William Morris, Sydney Taylor, and National Jewish Book Awards, among many other accolades.
I’ve tried to be an advocate for my clients and the industry at large, and I’m proud of my contribution to getting more queer books and diverse Jewish representation published in books for kids and teens.
Of course I will continue to write novels. As a matter of fact, I’m hard at work on one right now! If you haven’t already read my previous books, they are The Other March Sisters and Repairing the World. I will also continue volunteering at the Hudson Valley LGBTQ+ Community Center, where I am working on a youth library with books by and about LGBTQ+ people.
Don’t get the wrong idea though! I’m leaving agenting, but I’m not retiring! I’m really looking forward to new job opportunities, especially those that align with my commitment to making the world a better place.
